Dineen A. Baker

Dineen A. Baker, Esq., is an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, where she has worked since 2011. Currently, she serves as the Chief of the Violent Crime and Narcotics Trafficking Section, supervising AUSAs handling federal violent crime and drug offenses, including Title III wiretap investigations and RICO/VICAR homicide prosecutions. Ms. Baker also serves as the Project Safe Neighborhoods Coordinator and the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Coordinator for the District of Columbia. Ms. Baker previously served as a Deputy Chief in the General Crimes Misdemeanor Section of the Superior Court Division, where she supervised new prosecutors and oversaw their cases as they began their Superior Court careers. Before she became a supervisor, Ms. Baker investigated and prosecuted violent crime and narcotics matters in both District Court and Superior Court. Ms. Baker has been awarded several United States Attorney’s Awards for Special Achievement. Ms. Baker has been an instructor for law enforcement and prosecutors on topics including the Fourth Amendment, opioids, and ballistics. Before joining the United States Attorney’s Office in DC, Ms. Baker was an AUSA in the Middle District of Florida, where she received the United States Attorney’s Award for Outstanding Community Service in 2010. Ms. Baker also previously served as Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Twentieth Judicial Circuit. Ms. Baker received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from George Mason University and her Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
