Andrew L. Ain, Esq.

Andrew L. Ain, Esq., is currently in private practice and serves on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia Criminal Justice Act Panel, where he represents indigent defendants. His current practice focuses on homicides and other serious felonies. In addition to criminal defendants, he has represented petitioners in Civil Protection Order cases, crime victims, and grand-jury witnesses. Mr. Ain serves on the Criminal Justice Act Advisory Committee and as a mentor for new CJA attorneys.

Before his current role, Mr. Ain served as an Associate at Foley Hoag, LLC, focusing on complex litigation and commercial disputes. He also served as a Staff Attorney at the New Hampshire Public Defender, where he trained new attorneys, conducted staff-wide trainings, and authored or updated sections of the New Hampshire Public Defender practice manual.

Mr. Ain received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University, his Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he participated in the Criminal Justice Institute and represented indigent defendants in Roxbury and Dorchester. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Mark L. Wolf on the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
