Catrina M. Jones

Catrina M. Jones, Esq., a native Washingtonian, began her legal career in a small general practice firm in Maryland. She soon moved to the DC Office of the Attorney General (OAG) where she prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases for three years followed by six years handling drug nuisance, prostitution, lead, and slumlord cases. While there, she also created a drug nuisance training curriculum that became part of the MPD mandatory annual training requirements for all officers who engaged in searches and arrests. In 2012, Ms. Jones began working at the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs in the business licensing division, and shortly after, accepted the role of Chief of Staff of the agency. While there she created and implemented several multi-agency initiatives including one aimed to address the increasing exposure to synthetic drugs. In January 2016, Ms. Jones joined the District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) where she remains today with full management responsibility over the voucher program's mediation function. To date, she has implemented innovative changes to ensure that DCHA provides better client and landlord triaging, expands their efforts to educate both clients and landlords on topics critical to success in the voucher program, and moves earlier to not only identify and root out program abuses, but reduce program waste. Ms. Jones also taught Conflict Resolution and Mediation at the Lorton Prison Facility.

Ms. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University, and a Juris Doctor from the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law.
