Christina C. Okereke, Esq., serves as a Section Chief in the Civil Litigation Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia (OAG). In that role, she directly supervises a team of Assistant Attorneys General and legal support staff in all aspects of defending the District of Columbia and its employees in civil cases brought in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia from inception through trial. Ms. Okereke oversees the litigation of a wide variety of civil cases, including constitutional civil rights, employment discrimination, personal injury, FOIA, and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act cases, as well as small claims cases filed in the Superior Court. Before her promotion to Section Chief, Ms. Okereke served as an Acting Section Chief and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Division, where she handled a variety of employment discrimination and constitutional civil rights cases.
Before joining OAG, Ms. Okereke served as an Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Office of the Attorney General. In that role, she handled a variety of complex constitutional civil rights and employment law matters.
Ms. Okereke received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University, her Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
