Julie M. Wilson, Esq., owns Julie Wilson Law PLLC, where she represents individuals in criminal matters and serves on the Criminal Justice Act panels for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia (“Superior Court”). She also serves as Secretary of the Superior Court Trial Lawyers Association.
Before founding her firm, Ms. Wilson served as Counsel and Acting Chief Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, advising the Judicial Conference committees responsible for the Federal Rules of Appellate, Bankruptcy, Civil, and Criminal Procedure, as well as the Federal Rules of Evidence. In that role, she worked at the intersection of courts, Congress, the Supreme Court, the Department of Justice, and practitioners, gaining experience with institutional responsibilities and competing perspectives that shape the administration of justice.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Wilson served as a career law clerk to two U.S. Magistrate Judges and as a staff attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia and the Southern District of Texas. She also served as an Associate Attorney, handling civil litigation. She taught legal research and writing at American University Washington College of Law and received the 2023–2024 Michael R. Triplett Adjunct of the Year Award.
Ms. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from William & Mary School of Law.
