Hon. Kenia Seoane López is currently a Magistrate Judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Before being appointed as a Magistrate Judge in 2012, she served as Bilingual Attorney Negotiator in the Domestic Violence Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. Prior to joining the Superior Court, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Legal Services Section of the Child Support Division in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Judge Seoane López served as a Law Clerk to the Justices on the Massachusetts Superior Court and Senior Judges on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Judge Seoane López is a 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. In 2002, she also received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School in Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies. Judge Seoane López graduated cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Judge Seoane López served as the President of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Judge Seoane López is the current Chair of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia Judicial Council.
