Ray D. McKenzie, Esq.

Ray D. McKenzie, Esq., is a principal at Miles & Stockbridge P.C. specializing in white-collar defense and litigation. Prior to joining that firm, he co-founded a boutique white-collar law firm, WTAII PLLC. He was also an Assistant United States Attorney in Maryland, where he prosecuted violent crimes, narcotics, fraud, and human trafficking offenses. He served the United States Attorney's Office as Project EXILE, Civil Rights, and Asset Forfeiture Coordinator. In 2018, Mr. McKenzie received the U.S. Attorney’s Award for Excellence in the Prosecution of Fraud.

Before becoming a federal prosecutor, Mr. McKenzie was a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, and Flom, where he worked on civil and white-collar matters. He also represented domestic violence victims at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, among other pro bono matters.

Mr. McKenzie serves on the Criminal Justice Act panel for the District of Maryland and on the American Arbitration Association’s Consumer Arbitration Panel. He is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and the George Washington University School of Law.

Mr. McKenzie earned his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Teaching, and Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia and his Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable James R. Spencer on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Before law school, he was a public school teacher in Hanover County and the City of Alexandria, both in Virginia
