Danny Lam Nguyen

Danny Lam Nguyen, Esq., is a Trial Attorney in the Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, where he has worked since 2017. As a Trial Attorney, Mr. Nguyen handles numerous complex financial fraud investigations, both domestically and internationally, of individuals and corporations. Before assuming that role, Mr. Nguyen was an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia for four years. During that period, Mr. Nguyen investigated and tried violent crime matters in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, specializing in domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual and physical abuse cases. Mr. Nguyen also served in the Office’s Appellate Division and argued several matters before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. For his prosecution work, Mr. Nguyen received two United States Attorney’s Awards for Special Achievement. Before entering government service, Mr. Nguyen was an attorney at the Washington, DC office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, where he specialized in white-collar criminal defense and maintained an active pro bono practice.

Mr. Nguyen received both his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science and his Masters of Education in Counseling and Student Affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Nguyen received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center. Following law school, Mr. Nguyen clerked for the Honorable Reggie B. Walton on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
