Judicial Nomination Commission Invites Comments on Applicants for Pending Judicial Vacancy

Members of the bench, bar, and public are hereby notified by the District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission (the “Commission”) that there are twenty-nine (29) applicants for the pending vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of the Honorable Russell F. Canan. The Commission will submit the names of three applicants to the President of the United States for his consideration to nominate and appoint a judge. The applicants are:

Canan, effective February 3, 2018. The Commission invites qualified individuals to apply for this vacancy by 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017. See D.C. Code §§ 1-204.31, 1-204.33.
