The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission (“JNC”) is pleased to
announce the release of its annual update to the report of JNC’s actions. The report
provides a detailed itemization of JNC’s actions from its creation in 1973 through
September 30, 2016, documenting JNC’s recommendations of candidates for judgeships
to the President of the United States, Presidential nomination and appointment of
judges to the District of Columbia courts, and JNC’s designation of Chief Judges to lead
these courts.
The report released today spans more than forty years, and is an invaluable
historical review of the District of Columbia bench since the inception of Home Rule.
The report is available for review and download on JNC’s website.
